Clinical Guidelines for VSED Published

Voluntarily Stopping Eating and Drinking (VSED) is an end-of-life option for people who cannot or may not want to take lethal medication to end their lives. Some people choose VSED because they do not have a qualifying diagnosis to receive lethal medication and some may choose it because they cannot swallow medication, among other reasons. The first clinical guidelines for assisting patients who want to VSED have now been published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management and can be accessed for free here.
